The Niemier research group has received two supplemental grants from the JUMP mid-program realignment solicitation. He will work with collaborator X. Sharon Hu and José Martínez from Cornell to consider cross-layer evaluations of compute-in-memory architectures for cryptogrgaphic applications (e.g., AES, homomorphic encryption, etc.) This effort will span from devices-to-circuits-to-architectures-to-programming models. Additionally, Niemier will work David Brooks (Harvard), Wei Lu (Michigan), and Azad Naeemi (Georgia Tech) to study the impact of emerging multi-level memory cells on low precision inference application engines.
